Encouragement

We’ve all agreed to join this Christian Network of writers sharing our belief in God’s word. But, what are our intentions? What do we hope to accomplish? Do we expect that our work will touch the lives of people suffering and lift them out of bondage?

Or, perhaps, we expect some publisher to come out of the woodwork and bestow on us accolades of praise and amazement, along with opportunities to write for an ‘established’ magazine. Or even still, perhaps we expect to gain another perspective from our fellow brothers and sisters walk with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Why do we come to Faithwriters? Are we taking out our pencils, and red pens in order to relay the correct grammar and diction to the piece written, or perhaps our spirits were so lifted by the message itself, the ‘typos’ didn’t seem to matter. The question remains, what are our intentions when we come here? How un-crafty of me to use an old cliché, but to put it bluntly, our real intentions can only be answered by us.

What are we going through when we click on the computer to send our messages of belief, faith and trust? Has it ever crossed your mind that some of us may be broken hearted, depressed, reaching, searching, hopeless, scared, doubtful, and most times simply hurting. Still, there may be some that come hoping to share their testimonies of God’s Promise, His Blessings, and His Righteousness.

But for those of them that come, bruised, battered, scarred, and most of all hurting, I want you to know, you are not alone. I find I come to Faithwriters when I am hurting, when I can’t seem to find my way, when it hurts to breathe, when my troubles seem to engulf me. I come here.

I come here because my internal voice beckons me here. I come here because I refuse to dwell on my problems, my situations, the pain, the hurt, the tears, the trials, the tribulations, and the doubt. But mainly, I come here, because, THE JOY OF THE LORD IS MY STRENGHT!

I come here because if there is a glimmer of hope that I can be a blessing to someone else by sharing my story, by giving encouraging words to someone else, in spite of what MY situation looks like, in spite of how I feel, my faith tells me, THIS TOO SHALL PASS.

I come here because I am called to His purpose. I come here because, Greater is He who is in me than He who is in the world. I come here because, light is my affliction, and it is but for a moment, I come here because I am troubled on every side, yet not distressed; perplexed, but not in despair, persecuted, but not forsaken, cast down, but not destroyed. (Praise God!)

I come here because I simply refuse to miss my opportunity to be a blessing to someone else, no matter what my situation looks like, when I take the focus off of ME, and place the focus on someone else, that’s when I’m welcoming the Holy Spirit to work through me, and if through me, the Holy Spirit reaches you, well, all I can say to that is…TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

May the Body of Christ be blessed by your words of encouragement, faith and testimonies, may we all as members touch and agree that if one life is blessed here, all of our lives are blessed. To God Be the Glory!
