Have you ever read the story of the woman at the well? It is located in John 4:3-15, it tells the story of a woman who is weary in her life. Time after time, she has found herself going around in circles, never moving forward. She is tired of this relentless cycle of life. Over and over again, she has drank from every available well around her, yet she remains as thirsty as ever. This woman is a picture of every person who does not have a personal relationship with Christ. The key to the well is not the water, but the personal relationship to Christ the water brings. Anyone can go to church to worship, but if they lack the Spirit and truth that lays in Christ Jesus, they are missing the mark.

We can relate to this woman, how many times have we went searching for something, looking in all the wells about us, to no avail? The woman finds excuses for her behavior, she even resorts to sarcasm and ridicule. Jesus offers her something that she has never had before, living water, guaranteed to satisfy her thirst. Every person who has not found Christ, is that woman at the well. They are desperate for the something missing from their lives. However, when they find Christ’s well, they realize that their thirst is quenched, because his well offers much more than water. The woman had tried all avenues to find fulfillment, yet it took only one drink of Jesus’s tender gift to fill her soul and change her life forever.

'Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never thirst again; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.'" (John 4:13-14)

The moment a person drinks from Christ’s well, they are transformed. The woman at the well, forgot her mission of getting water, instead she makes it her mission to tell others about the living water. You see, Christ offers a fulfillment with each drink given at the well of life. His well offers redemption, the appeal of sin loses its savor. Your entire life will become new and different. When you receive salvation, you have found the keys to the kingdom of heaven.

How do you get to drink from this well? First, you must truly believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten son of God, who gave his life on the cross for your sins. You must be ready to accept the word of God on the basis of faith. Then come before him, confessing your sins with a heavy heart, and calling on him by faith. Ask him to come into your heart, and quench your thirst forever more. If you do that with a sincere heart, he will save your soul. You will never need to drink from another well again.
