Our Grand Old Flag

Stands strong and tall, Shouting freedom to all

Our Grand Old Flag

Waving over the brave, Our nation for to save

Our Grand Old Flag

As it waves for peace, May it never cease

Our Grand Old Flag

Stands for sacrifice, Our freedom to suffice

Our Grand Old Flag

As the storms prevail, May it never ever fail

Our Grand Old Flag

It's in God we trust, God's will to adjust

Our Grand Old Flag

I'll salute every time ,Our country to sublime

Recently, while sitting in a local shopping mall, I had the distingue privilege of watching a rather moving display of patriotism. Sitting across from me was a distinguished senior citizen, who was proudly displaying a WWII cap. Although seemly holding up well for his age, you could just see the evidence of his battle scars. Suddenly, as if out of nowhere, a young man came walking up, shook the old warriors hand, thanked him for his service to his country, then disappeared in the crowd. Yes, it brought tears to my eyes, as it did the older gentleman. All those sitting around me then busted out in spontaneous  applause. Praise God, our country is not dead yet.

Our Grand Old Flag evokes feelings of patriotism in all of us. Down through the centuries, our precious men and women have given their best that it may forever proudly wave. In the words of Francis Scott Key, “O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave over the land of the free and the home of the brave.” Yes it does, and all of us should pray that it will continually wave until our Lord returns.

"In you I trust, O my God. Do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me. No one whose hope is in you will ever be put to shame, but they will be put to shame who are treacherous without excuse". ( Psalm 25:2-3)
