For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
—John 3:16 (KJV)

Late last year (2012), I wrote an article here at Faithwriters which I called, “A Secret Night Meeting With Jesus”.

This article was about Nicodemus who went to Christ at night. Being a Pharisee, a group that vehemently resisted Jesus, Nicodemus’ reason for the night visit was because he didn’t want people to know about it. The conversation he had with the Lord Jesus was therefore supposed to confidential. But John saw him and eavesdropped at what they were talking about—he wrote and told us about it. To make the long story short, John 3:16, the most known and universally acclaimed as the statement calling (all) humanity unto salvation was initially a private statement and, spoken at night.

Since the above was revealed to me, I have been eavesdropping into “private messages” to individuals. If God speaks to somebody and I feel my heart being stirred in response to the message, I would thank God for speaking to me. The idea is that I will appropriate the message. But of course, I must disclaim unbridled (mis)appropriation of private messages to individuals. There are indeed some ‘private’ messages that we have no business appropriating. We have also to guard against appropriation of ‘other people’s private messages just because we are envious.
Recently, I was visiting a friend and a brother. He read to me a word of prophecy that a certain sister in the Lord gave him. The words of the message sounded so relevant, and they stirred my heart that when he finished reading it, I felt that he has just told me what God had sent him to give me—the message is just as mine as it is his. The following is the said message:

"My son, you are dearly loved, says your Father. I have watched over you from before you entered the womb, and I will watch over you until you're home.

“Now that you have humbled yourself under My hand, so I can begin to lead you into the ministry that was yours from the beginning. All you have experienced—all disappointments, failures, mistakes, and falls I turn into precious instruments which I use to bless other people. Anything I touch will be transformed, and that which Satan had purposed for evil and curse, I turn into a blessing.

“You've felt like you've been in a prison, says the Lord. That time is over. Before you is freedom, much joy and ability to touch people’s hearts with my love. What I have spoken to you in silence, once you have understood Me, be careful to put into practice, and as you do that you will grow both in wisdom and insight.

“Do nothing out of pressure or coercion. Only in peace can you hear my voice clearly—the voice that will become increasingly clearer to you as you go forward in obedience and faith. Spend more time in my Word; it will in its time reach out to others in power and authority.

"Behold, I make all things new, saith the Lord your God.”

Amen!!

Do you feel like it also stirs your heart?
Do you feel that the Lord has just spoken to you as He did to the original person and then the writer of this article?

Remain blessed.
