Exceedingly sinful and stained deep within,
I only was carnal and sold under sin;
Condemned by God’s law for the evil I’d done,
But God in His mercy and love sent His Son.

I’m thankful to God for my Lord Jesus Christ
Who paid my redemption through His sacrifice.
From sin I’m delivered from death and the grave;
I once was a wretch but through Christ I am saved.

I knew in my flesh there was not one good thing;
I could not appease God no off’ring could bring.
Condemned by the law and held captive by sin,
But Christ came from glory my pardon to win.

No longer condemned I’m united to Christ;
I now am God’s child I’ve been bought with a price;
Joint heirs with my Savior His likeness I’ll bear;
I look for the day when His glory He’ll share.
