Family

The Bible holds many truths.
Although it doesn't prepare
for those who ignore their roots
then they stop saying their prayers.

I hold to Jesus' views,
that life itself is not cheap.
I find within families
our differences are deep!

Whilst I would hold a banquet
and every cup overflowed.
Made sure each table was set,
I'd mouth the word; 'natural'

Then I would share food with love,
each palate satiated.
I then would thank God above,
for I, being related.

Yet there are some families
who count each morsel of food
that they begrudgingly give,
saying 'it's for your own good!'

I hold to Jesus' views,
a giving heart don't withhold.
This is the message He gave,
which can't be traded for gold.
