Calvin Moss 5/05/2013 “What happened to your dream?” A dream can be defined as a series of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations occurring during sleep. A dream can also be described as desire or an aspiration to become something or do something. As a child, perhaps you wanted to be a doctor, a lawyer or a firefighter etc. but did not realize that dream. Maybe your dream was to own a home or take an excursion to Africa. Unfortunately, many people have given up on their dreams. One of the worst things a person can do is give up on his or her dream. Dreams encourage the heart. They are motivators for one to move on. Every invention ever created started with a dream. Whether, it’s a car, computer or an airplane. See, when you do not have dreams, you end up working forever for those who do have dreams. It seems as if people have allowed the process of life to become dream stealers. Some of our family members and loved ones are dream stealers as well. The bible says hope deferred maketh the heart sick. How many people do you know that are walking around with a sick heart? The reverend Dr. Martin Luther king JR gave one of the greatest speeches ever written entitled “ I have a dream”. I have a dream inspired millions of men and women to become successful in fields that were only dominated by a few and become leaders in their respective communities. Do you have a dream? A dream to be a winner and not a loser, a dream to be the head and not the tail, a dream to succeed and not fail, what happened to your dream. People are letting their dreams die within them. For many of us a dream is all we have. While it is true that setbacks do occur, they are only temporary. I have encountered setbacks internally and externally but I must believe in my dream coming to fruition. In conclusion, I believe that one of the reasons we are poor is because we have no dreams. Dreams stimulate the brains` creative process to bring the unseen to the seen. A mind is a terrible thing to waste and too many individuals are wasting their mind. Dreams shape lives and build legacies. Without dreams, we rob ourselves of our future. Hold fast to your dream and make it a reality. God bless you, Amen.
