Do you happen to remember the 1946 Razor Commercial, when the singing parrot would started by singing, " Look Sharp, Feel Sharp, Be Sharp.

I know it's a play on words, but is that not like God's plan of salvation for one's life.

First- You look, feel, and be lost.
( Psalm 51:5) ( Romans 3:23) ( Romans 10:13)

Next- You look, feel, and be loved.
( John 14:6) ( Romans 5:8) ( Isaiah 45:5)

And Finally- You look, feel and be saved.
( Romans 10:13) ( John 3:16-17 ) ( Romans 4:7-8)

To look lost as in the human flow
To feel lost to the world I go
To be lost sins evil I bestow
When His great love I castaway

To look loved when not at my best
To feel loved as does all the rest
To be loved in His arms caressed
When His love to me He did portray

To look saved is by faith I aim
To feel saved God's grace I claim
To be saved is what I became
When for me He took my sins away

Do you remember what your life was like before you became a Christian? When you were loss, outside of God's love. And, before God saved you and turned your life around. If so, isn't Gods free Grace wonderful? ( Ephesians 2:8-9)

In the 19th Chapter of Matthew, we find a self-righteous man who thought that he had kept the commandments (Matthew 19:20), but knew that he did not have eternal life (verse 16). He knew that he lacked something very important in his life (verse 20). The Lord Jesus dealt with him in a very skillful way, showing him his great sin and unbelief.

This man was not ready for salvation. His first need was to see himself as a guilty, condemned, lost sinner. As someone has said, "Before you get saved, you need to get lost!" The Lord Jesus accomplished this by using the law, "for by the law is the knowledge of sin" (Romans 3:20).

Someone asked Luther, "Do you feel that you've been forgiven?" He answered, "No, but I'm as sure as there's a God in Heaven!
For feelings come and feelings go, and feelings are deceiving;
My warrant is the word of God, naught else is worth believing.
Though all my heart should feel condemned for want of some sweet token,
There is One greater than my heart Whose word cannot be broken.
I'll trust in God's unchanging word till soul and body sever;
For though all things shall pass away, His word shall stand forever."
