Why, when we read the reports of those whose personal experience conveys to us occurrences that break with the "normal" expectations of how life works, i. e. miracles, why do some embrace the report as truth and some quickly search the files of their minds for some "normalized explanation?"

I would identify myself as foolish if I thought I knew all the possible answers. That is also what I think of those Scientists who assume to know all the facts; they don't, and neither do you or I. But we can put a few facts together and formulate some possibilities among which there are probable facts.

There was an angel who came to assist me at a time when there was no available help for me. You may believe that immediately and you may not believe that report at all.

The Bible reports to us many such occurrences. Do we believe the reports? Why also would those types of angel visits not be true of our experiences today?

In fact the Scientists do know of information within their community, that accepts the existence of extra-terrestrial beings, while they do not in many cases, call them creations of the God we call God. As human beings we do not want to answer to a God, unless we can build that God as we want Him to be.

As members of The Church in America and maybe everywhere across the World, there are those who refuse to accept God as Who He says He is and the way He says He is; they have their Set of Attributes which they allow to God and anything that deviates from that set of attributes is refused by them, despite what the Scriptures report to us.

Why? Why is the question.

I have identified a reaction that I consider to be one reason for the refusal of people to accept the "reports of the miraculous occurrences."

If I was looking at you and conveying the experience which I had from a being that we do not always see or hear, and I told you it happened in the realm of reality in which you and I live, you would be confronted to make a decision. You could come up with all sorts of possibilities that may or may not satisfy your summation of my report. The fact is however, you are constrained to make an evaluation for your own mind.

The reason we find it necessary to debunk the reports of miracles is because IF, in fact, the reports of the Bible are true and IF the reports given by some people today is true regarding the 'miraculous happenings,' THEN this stuff is TRUE and we are seriously confronted to make a decision and therefore, to pay attention to the instructions of the Bible because it has validity.

Upon discovery of this information we would then find it necessary to change; with "change" we are not comfortable. It also removes from us our comfortable feeling that we are in control. It is scary to most of us today to feel that we are not in total control of our surroundings; however, we have never been and never will we be so.

The one thing over which we have control are the personal decisions we make, be those good ones or be they bad ones.

I challenge the reader to search the prophecies of The Holy Bible. The internet has many pro and con sites with volumes of information. Too many of the prophecies have been fulfilled and are being fulfilled, for them to be left unconsidered. Look also into the information of the scientific community and see that they know about multiple dimensions of reality which possibly explains how miracles such as walking on water and passing through locked doors is certainly possible. None of this is new to God Who made it all.

If you really do NOT want to know about these things, WHY? Just to quickly dismiss a research and an investigation as worthless, could not possibly be the correct decision.

We are glad to think of a Heaven, or maybe some other state of peaceful existence to which we go once we have died. What IF you knew there was only a Heaven and a Hell? Would you want to know that information IF it was true?

It is alright to be a question asker. I too ask questions, and find answers. Jesus asked questions of His hearers frequently. God wants us to think, to ask questions, and to know why we do or do not believe certain reports.

An instruction from the Bible: "Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing, (discerning, understanding,)The Word of Truth."
