What do you give your Mom?
When she carries you around
For nine months until she’s round?
When she puts up with your kicks
And in mornings when she’s sick?

What do you give your Mom?
When she feeds you baby food
‘Cause your cries destroy her mood?
When each day you trouble find,
And she cleans your foul behind?

What do you give your Mom?
When she wipes away your mud,
Washes all your filthy duds,
Bathes you in a warm bathtub,
And then makes you yummy grub?

What do you give your Mom?
When she packs for you your lunch?
When she helps you in a crunch?
When she drops you off at school?
When she helps you learn the rules?

What do you give your Mom?
For your sleepovers with friends?
For the concerts she attends?
For the games she goes to see?
When she bandages your knee?

What do you give your Mom?
When your college bills she pays
Through her long and hard-worked days?
For the cookies that she sends,
And the money you can spend?

What do you give your Mom?
When you walk the wedding aisle,
And the food costs her a pile?
When you give back your old room,
And the quietness now looms?

What do you give your Mom?
When she travels many miles
When you have your first born child?
When she gives to you her strength
When you’re stretched to greatest length?

What do you give your Mom?
When she’s caring towards your spouse?
When she helps you with your house?
When she spoils your kids each day
In so many thoughtful ways?

What do you give your Mom?
When her life is nearly o’er,
And she cannot serve you more--
You give to her the love
She has shown you from above.
