When time is gone, there's not a man, can call it back again.
To patch up past gone errors or mend the sting and pain.
Or even, for that matter...to relive certain thrills....
When time is gone...so goes our chance the idle time to fill.

When time is gone...remorse cannot recall a hasty word;
So often spoken....oft' as not...a word that's undeserved.
With all the sorrow we may feel at hurting someone dear,
When time is gone...forgiveness comes...but pain, somehow, stays near.

When time is gone...we think...of opportunities gone by.
We try our best to grasp the past...then dumbly wonder...why
The years have left us destitute in mind...void...unfulfilled;
When time is gone the knock of opportunity is stilled.

When time is gone, the thought appears..."how long before I'LL pass
Into some great eternal place...into a shapeless mass?"
So many, now, have entered this silent, dormant state.
When time is gone...it CAN'T be used...it's SPENT, instead....too late.
