Sometimes....I wake up in th' night
A' thinkin' o' th' past;
O' home....afore I left it;
O' memories that LAST!

O' hearin' ev'ry Sunday
Th' ringin' o' th' bell...
An' comin' from Ma's kitchen
A Sunday Dinner smell!

I hear th' folks a' prayin'
That I'd always be 'good'...
An' always be found tryin'....
T' do th' things I should.

So....when I wake up thinkin'
O' times long past an' gone;
Somehow....th' night ain't quite s' dark....
An' I ain't plum' alone.

They's lots o' folks that had good homes
That wakes up in th' night
Gits out o' bed an' kneels right down,
An' prays to God, they might
Give THEIR kids things t' think on....
Inspirin' things....THAT LAST!
So in th' night...THEY'LL thank their God
For good times....from the past.
