On a cold January, 2004 morning, Janet Irving prepared a breakfast of waffles and sausage for her two young sons, Casey, 5 and Lynn, 3. As a waffle was about to be taken off of the waffle iron, the two boys began to argue as to who would have the first one. Janet saw this as a teaching moment for her sons. Janet saw this as a teaching moment for her sons.
“Boys, if Jesus were sitting at this table, He would say, ‘Let my brother have the first waffle. I can wait.”
Casey turned to his younger brother, Lynn, and said, ‘Lynn, you be Jesus this time, Okay!”
