As I was driving on my way to work, my mind began to go back to when my kids were little. I recalled how there were so many times when they really wanted to help with something in the house. Sometimes it was cooking, laundry, or just to help clean something up. I remember the thoughts going through my head like "I want to just do this myself, it will be faster", "What if they do this wrong and I have to redo it?".

God really showed me something that day, in those thoughts. God is Sovereign and very capable of completing all His work by himself. Yet, even though He knows we will mess things up sometimes, that He may have to fix something, or things may take longer to get accomplished, He has allowed us to be a part of His work here on earth. What an amazing thing!

As parents, I pray that you will consider that truth. As God allows us to participate and even desires us to part of His work here, that we would allow our children to help, to take part in, chores, activities, projects, and whatever else it may be. So the thought for the day is..are you allowing those moments for your children in your day and if not that you would.
