At times when trials come our way,
When hurt runs deep from day to day,
We’re blessed with friends of faithfulness
Who shower us with thoughtfulness.
They empathize with all our needs
As on their knees they intercede
And bring us to the throne of grace
And seek our mighty Sovereign’s face.
Some choose to call and use the phone
To tell us we are not alone;
Their words of kindness bring us cheer
And make us feel like they are near.
Sometimes we walk out to the road
And bring inside the mother lode;
So many cards arrive each day
Expressing love in all they say.
Some come to visit from afar
To check on us and how we are;
They look for ways to lend a hand
When in our strength it’s hard to stand.
And there are those who time invest,
Who bake and cook and share their best.
And others come and help and clean;
Sometimes they serve and are not seen.

It’s hard to say how much you’ve meant
For all the time on us you’ve spent;
With love from us and thanks sincere,
We’re glad we have such friends so dear.
