“The stone! The stone!”
She said it was rolled away
So I ran to the tomb,
The linen was in disarray.

Awe filled my mind
Mixed with utter grim,
Just three days ago
I denied knowing Him.

Now Mary told me first
The risen Lord she did see.
In my shame I knew
He would not come to me.

The Stone! The Stone!
The Living Stone forgives me!
Today, at my Lord’s Table
I, Peter, sup with He.

We walk and talk together
On streets made of gold.
He said we will live forever,
Not one will grow old.

Yes, every day is Easter
From then until now.
He lives! He lives! So
Before Christ’s throne I bow.

What a beautiful poem. Emotion of the scenario rang so true for me too. Yes, you are a poet.

I beg to differ, you are quite a poet. and a very talented one at that! This is a beautifully described story of one of my most favorite parts of the NT.

Very well done.
