Let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance. Proverbs 1:1 New International Version

We will say that mother is going across the country to visit her new grandchild. The son gives the mother directions on which subway to take and then which bus to take. She is to call when him when she the arrives at the airport. The son will be waiting for her at the bus stop.

The mother tells her son “I know where I am going; I know what I am doing. Don’t worry.” This despite the fact the mother has never been to that city before.

When she gets through the airport she is lost, but refuses to call the son.

A man comes up and talks with her and says he knows where she is going, follow him. He takes her to a scary part of town and tells her to give him money or he will hurt her. So she is standing at a bus stop and another man approaches her and says he knows which bus to take. They get off in a dangerous part of town and tells her to give him money or he will hurt her. She of course does.

Now, scared, she calls her son who takes a taxi to pick her up. If she had just listened to him, she would not have had any of those problems.

I have had just such an experience where I couldn’t meet someone at the airport because of work. They did just as the mother did.

How many times do we refuse to listen to godly guidance from those who are wise and instead follow someone else’s and get into trouble?

Prayer: Please Jehovah Rohi (God our Sheppard) help be always be sensitive to listening to and obeying Your wise guidance in my life. I humble ask this in the name of the greatest Sheppard Jesus Christ .Amen.

May the sweet sunshine of Jesus' precious love bless you today and every day.
