Whenever, though, they turn to face God as Moses did, God removes the veil and there they are -- face to face! They suddenly recognize that God is a living, personal presence, not a piece of chiseled stone. And when God is personally present, a living Spirit, that old, constricting legislation is recognized as obsolete. We're free of it! All of us! Nothing between us and God, our faces shining with the brightness of his face. And so we are transfigured much like the Messiah, our lives gradually becoming brighter and more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like him. — 2 Corinthians 3:16-18 msg

He is not in ornate. He is not some picture or statute you pray to.

I have been to many Buddhist Temples while living here. One thing that strikes me is that their intent is to strike fear and reverence for them. Yet, they also seem dead, just huge pieces of colored wood or stone. They are as alive as a corpse in a coffin. The food that worshipers offer just sits there and goes rotten.

It is the same with these statutes and photos of Christian saints that people waste their time and devotion praying to. They can not help them. How much different are their “holy days” worshiping these saints any different than the detestable worship the ancient Israelites did that made God angry with them?

We were created to worship, but it constantly amazes me how far people will go to worship anyone or anything, rather than worship God. Christianity is no better. How many people pray to this saint or that instead of worshipping God? By what authority does the pope represent Jesus more than a missionary? Maybe the missionary represents Christ more than the pope because the missionary is in the field while the pope is in a palace. Then why do people idolize the pope?

As we progress in our walk with God, He will reveal Himself to us in so many ways. We will see His wisdom in how He guides our day by day choices. We see His blessings in even the minutest event that happens throughout our day. We see so much beauty around us when because of our close relationship with Him, He opens our eyes to simple, yet marvelous things. Try to watch a sunrise while commuting with God and see if your eyes are not opened to its incredible beauty. We can see how much our lives have changed and marvel at it.

We experience His wonderful forgiveness.

As we emulate Him we discovery a life filled with peace and joy, no matter how bad things get. Indeed, how many physical ailments like insomnia could be cured just by having a right relationship with Jehovah? God’s heart aches for a close loving personal relationship with you.

Faith and obedience are bound up in the same bundle. He that obeys God trusts God; and he that trusts God obeys God. He that is without faith is without works; and he that is without works is without faith. Charles H. Spurgeon

Are you willing to experience a never ending life filled with joy, peace and fulfillment?

It will be the most challenging, yet rewarding experience ever. You are never to young or old to begin this wonderful relationship. Your past is not important to Him. It is your present. It is for me.

My most special time to experience Jesus is in the morning. First I read morning devotionals like this that is where God is talking with us. There is about fifteen read every morning. Maybe because you do not have that amount of time you can instead just read even one.. Then I give thanks, love and praise to Jehovah our Father, Jesus Christ our king and savior and then the Holy Spirit who is our teacher, comforter, healer and encourager. After that a few Bible verses are recited and talked about in how to walk with Him throughout the day. My favorite verses are 2 Corinthians 9:8, Ephesians 3:20, Jeremiah 29:11 and Philippians 4:4-7 in the New International Version. Read them as if God were sitting there saying these to you. Finally I sing three songs of praise, gratitude and love to them. It is a fantastic way to begin the day.

Prayer: Please Jehovah Adoai (The Lord our Sovereign God) help us not to make idols to worship of people, careers, dead statutes, or anything that comes between complete and total worship to You. I thank you for Your amazing grace that permits me to worship such a real loving, caring God that is willing to be such an important and wonderful God. I ask this in the name of Him who gave His all to us Jesus Christ. Amen.

May the sweet sunshine of Jesus' precious love bless you today and every day.
