SECOND ADAM

Eve then deceived
And ate the fruit -
Then gave Adam�
New mankind�s root

Sin that needed
Clothing to hide
Behind God�s question:
�Why, do you deny?�

The stage was set
For all mankind -
For now was needed:
Was peace of mind

Seeking God�s truth
Were those elite
And they did suffer
So much defeat

Abraham to Samson
David to Paul�
Were men who God
Used to make known

And trials suffered
But not in vain
For God provides;
He does sustain�

As Heaven�s star
Did usher in
The Savior � Christ:
Hope for all man's sin

His truth proclaimed:
�My �Abba� � King�
Caused strife and vexed
Man�s �religious� thing

After the fact
Did mankind see
That Christ is God:
Salvation�s plea

Christ died for sin -
And took man�s place,
And fulfilled promise
Of God�s great grace
