Exodus 3:4

And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.

Being led by the Holy Spirit to select today's topical discussion Called by God taken from my monthly devotional Heavenly Bread as this month's theme is "A Spiritual Invitation". Just as God called many during the Bible days, He is calling leaders and laity today to lead His people. Today's lesson setting is Moses being called by God to lead His people out of bondage in Egypt.

Two points of being called by God; first, God chooses whomever He pleases because He knows our heart and capabilities better than we do. God always prepares His people for whatever mission He has assigned to the person. Just as Moses was prepared by God without his knowledge and you and I are no exception.

The second point is that God knew before the foundation of the world whom He would call and who would answer the invitation to become part of His holy nation of people. Just as God called Moses to lead the nation of Israel out of physical and spiritual bondage His spiritual invitation remains open to all lost souls of the world so they too can become members of His holy nation of people. God uses spiritual leaders and laity to proclaim the gospel and to witness to His grace and mercy.

God's spiritual invitation will remain open until such time when Christ return and establish His earthly kingdom and rule forever.
