THE PRECIOUS BLOOD OF JESUS

A communion meditation

If there is power in Christ's blood,
and that there is - I'm told,
Then the value and the weight of it
Is much more precious than pure gold.

If there is power in Christ's blood,
and that there is - is true,
For by this the soul inflamed,
by this the heart made new.

If there is power in Christ's blood,
and that there is - I know,
For when He washed me in its tide
my sins were white as snow.

If there is power in Christ's blood,
and that there is - is plain to see,
For all who believe on it
are clothed with majesty.

If there is power in Christ's blood,
and that there is - is right,
For by it a child inherits a robe,
a ring and a mansion bright.

If there is power in Christ's blood,
and that there is - I cry aloud,
For the mention of it sends shock
and shivers thru the devil's troops,
But with angels draws a crowd.

If there is power in Christ's blood,
and that there is - I pray,
For all to linger beneath the wondrous cross,
and partake this Love feast without delay.
