The Simple Christmas Story

It came to pass in those days,

There came from Caesar's hand,

A law that all his subjects

Pay tax in their own land.

So Joseph being subject

With Mary went to sign.

In Bethlehem our Savior

Was born by God's design.

She laid Him in a manger,

Our heavenly Lord and King.

And as the shepherds heard it,

On high the angels sing:

"All glory in the highest,

On earth peace to all men."

They went to worship Jesus,

Then watched their flocks again.

Some wise men came to praise Him;

They travelled from the East,

But went home warned by angels

To skip King Herod's feast.

We learn from this true story

That God came down to earth.

With angels. shepherds, wise men,
