"Remember, Lord?"

Remember Lord, when I was a little girl

And Christmas was a beautiful time

I’d dress up pretty, with hair all acurl

And the atmosphere, was so sublime

It always seemed to snow, back then

A white beauty, covering the land

Santa was coming, tho’ not sure when

And everything felt so grand . . .

The house was full of love and cheer

As we wrapped presents, for each one

And Mom saying "Don’t peek, do ya hear?"

Or you’ll spoil . . . All the fun

We’d try to guess, what was wrapped

In the gifts, we gave to each other. . .

While Dad, in his favorite chair, napped

As we’d try to tease answers from Mother

Then . . . There was the Christmas tree

All glittery, Yet, with a warm glow

Decorated perfectly, for all to see

And a train ran around it, real slow

The "Manger" was our favorite thing

We would handle it with such care

As it was placed, underneath the tree . . .

Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus. . .Were there

Memories . . .Bring tears to my eyes

Christmas, is nothing like that today

The meaning and the joy of giving

Have all . . . .Been taken away

Remember Lord, how God gave us

"You" . . .As a gift to each and everyone

They celebrate Christmas, without you, now

How can that be. . . How is that done?

I yearn for Christmas, like days of old

With Thanks and Blessings, to The Lord

And detest how they have removed you

It hurts . . . Like a piercing of a sword

Lord, remember please, that I love you

I don’t care what the world has to say

You’ll remain in my heart on Christmas

The same as you do. . . Everyday!
