God is Calling You!
Acts 2:38-39
Introduction:
Some of us in the in the body of Christ do not believe in the phrase being called of God. We act like we do not believe God calls us. No one can be saved unless God calls us. You don’t have to be an ordained minister or appointed preacher, God Call us all! Here are some scriptures to study and learn to help us to find the correct answers for our topic.
I.Does God call people?
A. Yes, He does. ( Acts 2: 36-39 )
B. You will also find the answer in 1 Corinthians 1: 21-23.
II. How does God call people?
A. Through the gospel. ( 2 Thessalonians 2:14; Romans 1:16 )
B. Demonstrated on the Pentecost. ( Acts 2:39 )
C. Compare getting a call from the President! Would we yawn about it and offer excuses? If you are a christian, do you act like you really believe God you? One of the greatest needs in the church today is the need to impress on the minds of Christians that God has called them! God called Moses from a bush He calls us from a book! Even though from a book, it is God’s call to us.
III. What is the nature of God’s call?
A. High. ( Philippians 3:13,14 ) we cannot live a higher life.
B. Holy. ( 2 Timothy 1:8,9 ) There is not a purer pursuit.
C. Heavenly. ( Hebrews 3:1 ) From Heaven!
D. Hopeful. ( Ephesians 4:1-4; Romans 8:24,25; Hebrews 6:16; 11:1; Colossians1:23 ).
IV. Into what does God call People?
A. Into salvation from sin. (Acts 2:38, 39 )
B. Into His kingdom. ( 1Thessalonians 2:11,12 ) This means we are called into faithfulness in His church. It’s the same as being called into one body. (Colossians 3:15 )
C. Into holiness. ( 1 Thessalonians 4:7 ) Note verses 1-6. We ought to be people possessing holiness. (Leviticus 10;10; Hebrews 2:12; 2 Corinthians 7:1 ) 1Peter 1:5 We should act in a christian manner in speech, actions and to also dress appropriately.
D. Into His marvelous light. (1Peter 5:10 ) In this light we are to show forth the praises or the noble and high qualities and traits of our Lord. Our task is endless! Into a life where we evince the right attitude when we suffer for right doing (1 Peter 2:20-23, etc.) Unto eternal glory. ( Peter 5:10 )
Conclusion:
I pray that you will use this bible study so you will learn how much Jesus loves you and needs you. He’s done so much for us he gave His life so we could be free. God is calling you now won’t you please answer His Call! “Lord remind me that nothing is going to happen to me today that you and I together can’t handle “
