You're far too beautiful for my eyes; to see would make me die;
Your Love is there to my surprise; its truth that makes me sigh;
As far away as my own thought, much closer than my pleasure;
What elation our coupling wrought, a joy of endless measure.

Hidden Lover of my heart, with it you I see;
You know so well what I want, what is best for me.
Your desire is my need, like steps for my life;
Let this Love plant the seed, stay with me through strife.

You come to me with cups of water; in drinking them I'm full.
Only Love is what you offer; my being's warm as wool.
You'll be there when I leave, in knowing this I'm pleased.
When others are, for me, bereaved, my own heart is eased.

You're the Love of my life; as such my life's with you.
Being with you is so right; knowing you so true.
Outside of us I see nothing; there's only you and I.
As my Love the one thing; I'm happy just to die.

Then I'll see your depth of beauty; in death I would be safe.
I desire that you'll come to me, and take this helpless waif.
Hidden Lover of my heart, with it you I see;
You know so well what I want, what is best for me.
