As a man thinks in his own heart, so is he.
Our thoughts are our treasures.
Be careful what you store up there.
You can store up good treasures there.
You can store up evil one.
The heart is the wellspring of life.
What is stored there will erupt one day.
Like a volcano, it will pour out its contents.
The mouth speaks from that which fills the heart.
We must carefully guard the treasures of our heart.

A heart filled with evil treasures is like a sore.
They are like fruit that is spoiled.
Needing desperately to be thrown out.
They smolder and fester within the heart.
Then rise up like a fortress against God.
We do love darkness rather than the light.
It is faith in ourselves and unbelief in God.
Needing to be destroyed like a condemned building.
They need to be thrown away as worthless.
We must carefully guard the treasures of our heart.

Don’t be destroyed for lack of knowledge.
Don’t substitute man’s empty imaginations.
Weighed down with iniquity; living apart from God.
Relying on materialism, religion, ritualism, and pride.
Turning to what we think will make us happy and significant.
To what we think will bring us security, position, and power.
Independent living is living apart from faith in God.
They are ways that we ourselves can control.
It is living by our own protective inventions.
A subtle self-deception; evil treasures stored in our heart.

A heart filled with good treasures is like confidence.
Having a conscious void of offense.
Not sinless; but blameless; void of fear.
Having the confidence that the Lord is for me.
The attitude of; what can man do to me.
Having thoughts that promote the truth.
Where the commandments of God are not ignored.
Being committed to dependence; on God.
It is the route to ultimate satisfaction; in Him.
We must carefully guard the treasures of our heart.
