Yesterdays lived in relentless doubt
Wondering what life was really about
Darkness surrounded by a dim light
Stumbling the world in hindered sight

Tomorrows brought only new misery
No sense of release from my destiny
Existing from one day to the next
Going through motions perplexed.

Numbness mercifully comforted me
Anything to erase the reality
Of being alone and surviving that way
All to be done was to silently pray

Suddenly life became precious to me
When faced with my own mortality
Thinking my life would soon be over
I went to my knees for an angel’s cover

So many things were taken for granted
Seeds of doubt were securely planted
When death claimed my life to be taken
Jesus said I would not be forsaken

Miracles and comfort were sought and found
Healing the body, making it sound
Diagnosed as having more to give
By the greatest Physician ever to live
