The Dividing Line
Ephesians 2: 14-18 for he is our peace, who hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; and that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby; and came and preached peace to you which were afar off and to them that were nigh. For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
No man is worth me losing my salvation. The salvation that is given us is much more precious than all the gold and silver in the world. Salvation was given to us out of love and we too must love with the love of Christ. No matter what anyone does to us we must forgive and forgive quickly. This love affair I have going on with my heavenly Father is far too important to me to lose it over something someone has done to me. What I am saying is there is a dividing line and we must draw it when certain things happen in our lives that calls us outside the Will of God.
Paul talking to the Church at Ephesus in Ephesians 1:10-13 that in the dispensation of the fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth, even in him: in whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will; that we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. In whom ye also trusted, after ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise.
Where do we draw the dividing line? What line am I talking about? I am talking about the line Christ drew in the sand that would separate us from good and evil, right and wrong, speaking evil or good, wrong or right and calling a spade a spade that’s not a spade. God can use us to speak things in people’s lives and He also use the mouth to curse the lives of people. He uses our mouth to speak blessings also and he uses His Spirit to Speak as the Word spoke. There is a dividing line that man must come to where they don’t curse their lives. There is a line that calls for actions sometime that isn’t in the will of God that can take us out of our proper places in Christ. There is the real and the unreal.
The way we treat people in the things we usurp our authority to do, we can lose out on our future blessings from God. God has already predestined our lives but if we mistreat one of his own we could lose that blessing of promise from God. It’s just right to do right. My leg should not still be in the condition it is in. I should never have been denied my retirement. I should never had my health jeopardized and I should never been denied the opportunity to work again. What more is to find out that the people that put me through this was people that I looked up to and had great respect for. We have to be careful about what we do and who we do it to. More than that we have to watch our response to situations that it is godly one where we don’t be pulled off the beacon path that God has put us on. God can use you to prophesy into being something and if you are not careful you can speak against what came out of your mouth because you respond naturally. The storms will be here before Halloween because of the acts of man. God will show himself that He mean what he says. This is what adds to the economy that has not been budgeted. How do you budget disasters? It don’t add up when you don’t know they are coming.
This morning I was supposed to go to the doctor. When the time came I could not wake up. I should have gone since I could not go anywhere else to get the help I needed for my body. God in a vision showed me why I could not get the help I needed from the State that I worked in for almost thirty years. The system has a way of messing up the lives of people that does well for it and the people that don’t do well for it they honors, appreciate and bless them. The world love its own the Bible says so we don’t worry about how we have been treated. When I was homeless and hungry I thought it was a shame that I couldn’t get food stamps. When I was sick I wondered why I could not get treated for what ailed me. When I couldn’t get my job back or no other job I wondered why especially since I had thirty plus years of experience. The enemy wanted me to speak against one of the people that did this for me. It came to me that God had used me to speak greatness into this particular person’s life. I defend him regardless of what he has done because I know where God wants to take him. Some things we just have to take it and make it.
In 1978 I made a mistake with the law; I paid my debt to society and back then if you did wrong and admitted that you did wrong you was given the chance to prove yourself again. I was one of those people. Today someone do wrong, go to prison, pay their debt to society they can’t hardly get a job. So what do they do after being discouraged time and time again? We take care of them when they are incarcerated and we take care of them afterwards also. Those same people should be taught how to do the right things and given the chance. Had I not been given the chance by a wise man that heard me tell the truth, accepted me for telling the truth and gave me a chance to prove myself worthy of the choice. I was after eleven months promoted to a permanent position.
There is a dividing line in the sand and we must make it. Paul always uses the expression the dividing wall in the Word or God figuratively. It goes back to the arrangement of the synagogue. Paul was writing to the Jews. In the synagogue there was a space at the rear of the building which was partitioned off for the Gentiles. Paul refers to this wall as that which under the Old Covenant separated the Gentiles from the privileges of salvation; but now through Christ this is broken down, and all have equal privileges before God. Who are we to judge others? We have to let God be God and every man a liar. Jesus was tempted in like manner as all men; but he did not sin. Because of the hardness of the hearts of men; things that never were to be became known to men.
That dividing wall must be put up that certain things shall have no portion on this side of the wall where Christ dwells. There is an opponent that hinders the building up of man in the earth but we know who it is that controls our destiny. That opponent is the one we need to put a dividing line from not each other. We are the world, we are the people that will make a difference in the world. We must come together one with the other and draw the dividing line against the enemy of our soul; the Devil
