The bench sat in the corner
Beneath the ancient old trees
She came to sit in wonder
To watch the falling of His leaves
The wood was all weathered and worn
Dare i sit,will it hold my weight
Deciding to give over to chance
Loving the way it faced the garden gate
He walked with her once there
She will never forget the day
The things that kept her from Him
They had to go they could not stay
She dreaded the winter cold
That would keep her away
From the bench and His falling leaves
But she knew, He was here to stay
