As a Dad picked up his little boy from Sunday School, he asked,
"What did you learn today?" The boy said, "The teacher told us
about the Israelites crossing the Red Sea by the army engineers
building a pontoon bridge across it then bombing it after the
Israelites crossed. The Dad said, "Did she really say that?"
Response: "No, but if I told you what she really said, you'd never
believe me!"

We may chuckle at that little boy's reasoning, but many adults do
the same thing. When they come to a difficult passage, they some-
times try to explain it away. The cults do it all the time. They put
their own spin on it. It seems we can't bring ourselves to simply
believe what the Bible says -- we need to rationalize it.

Sometimes medicine has instructions that say, "best when taken
with food." The front page of your Bible should have a notation
that says, "Best when read with faith." Don't get uptight about
what you don't understand -- just do your best to live up to what
you do understand.

Psalm 107:43 (niv) should be in bold letters on the front cover of
your Bible: "Whoever is wise, let him heed these things and
consider the great love of the Lord." Believe it!
