Leadership
The Entitlement
As men we are privileged to certain rights of man. As men and women of God we are heirs and joint heirs with Christ to the inheritance that God has given us. Man is created (Genesis 1:26-27) first then made (Genesis 2:7). God in the earth created all that man would need for survival in his natural state first. He created all things but had no one to keep what He had naturally made. Man was entitled to everything God had made for him. Man was made flesh to keep this newly created place called earth. A pencil is for writing and a pen but one is permanent and cannot be erased and that is how it is with God. He is the only one that can erase a past and allow man to proceed. We were to live forever in Paradise; we were entitled to; but one man’s unrighteous act changed things for man. Yet God still provided for us.
In Genesis 2:8 the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden and there He put the man whom He had formed. The man was put in the Garden of Eden to tend and keep it. God commanded the man saying, of every tree of the garden you may freely eat. These were entitlements, we have a right to the things God has provided even from the beginning; food, clothing and shelter. So now how much more man have the same desire? An entitlement is a government program providing benefits to members of a specified group through funds that support benefits by law or contract. These programs are designated to furnish with proper grounds for seeking or claiming something to the bearer of such to meet a need. If God did not deprive man in the beginning of their need why would man set his heart to see people of this great country suffer as in foreign countries? This country is an entity independent, separate, or self-contained in its own existence and leads out in the world. We are the example that the world wants to follow. We help others so why wouldn’t we want the same for our own?
Coming in at the entry level of the hierarchy causes us to learn, live, and grow. Experience noted is the best teacher in a job. We learn from every occurrence, transaction or proceeding and can record a descriptive trust that what is needed will be delivered. We can commit to one another with confidence because we have a proven record. We have an obligation to know who it is that will be our head. We need to watch their relationships and how they relate to people in general not a select few. We need to watch their worship of God, themselves, and others. We need to know that they will not bring the wrath of God down upon us. They must have the character of God to reach the children for God. Many times we don’t consider points that matter when we make decisions. If there is no affection for people, the poorest of people then we cannot lead. Affections should be supremely set upon God first, His Commandments, His Worship, and the people of God.
A leader should have a firm fear of God. They must respect God and man. Man has been entitled by God to choose. God gave us a choice to accept or reject him. He gave us a right to obey him and those same rights still live today. If we choose to do what He says we will be blessed, and if not we will be cursed. No man can make another do right or wrong, we make that choice. Man fear God when he will not withhold his goods from God and man. When we fear God we will not send the poor home empty handed. When we fear God we can see the hardships of people and the toil of their hands. When a man fears God they will judge between God and themselves. They will surely not lie. God told Moses in Exodus 9:30 but as for thee and thy servants, I know that ye will not yet fear the Lord God. Pharaoh was unrelenting, although he saw the rain and the hail and the thunders he sinned yet the more and hardened his heart, he and his servants. God looks for change in man that says man fear him. How long will that leader refuse to humble them self before God and lose the desire to hold people hostage.
We are entitled to our own opinion but in the final analysis God has the final say so concerning man. David said in Psalm 116:11 I said in my haste, all men are liars. All men are not liars; just some. We have to be slow to wrath and of great understanding. He that is hasty of spirit exalts folly. The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness, but of every one that is hasty only to want. We can want something so bad that we lose perspective of who we are. There is more hope for a fool that a man that speaks out without thinking or feeling their words. Solomon the greatest man in the Bible concerning wisdom said in Ecclesiastes 5:2 be not rash with thy mouth and let not thine heart be hasty to utter anything before God; for God is in heaven; and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few. A leader is not hasty in their spirit to be angry for anger rest in the bosom of fools.
The wrong thing to do is show that we have no integrity altogether and entirely. When our integrity shows not to be integrity we have exceeded our ability. We the people are to look for able men that fear God; men of truth and hates covetousness. We are to look for leaders that have not respect of persons, neither make a gift for a gift. He will not blind the eyes of the wise and pervert the words of the righteous. Their lips will not speak wickedness; which lying is. God forbid that we should justify such a one. A man of integrity will not remove his righteousness but will hold fast to the entitlement he has been given. A leader must weigh things in the balance, judge according to righteousness, walk in his integrity, incline their ears to wisdom and apply their hearts to understanding. They are more apt to hear than speak and mercy and truth will never forsake them. They shall find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man. He that walks uprightly walks surely. The integrity of the upright shall guide them and the righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way.
Better is the poor that walks in his integrity than he that is perverse in his lips. We have been entitled with much and what we do with it determines the trust God will have in us. If a man be just and do that which is lawful and right God is pleased; so will man be pleased. A leader is not to exact more than that which has been appointed to them. They don’t do violence to no man; not mentally, physically, psychologically, or socially. They don’t accuse falsely. A leader is content with what is put to them to eat positively or negatively and keep walking. A good leader will exercise themselves to always have a conscience; void of offence toward God and toward men. They will wrong no man, corrupt no man or defraud no man. They will provide for honest hngs, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.
We have an entitlement just as any other man to be trustworthy and have a good conscience in all things to live honestly. The end of all things is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience. The final word to any leader is this; whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
