Lord Bless the Wounded

Lord bless the wounded -
who silently weep.
The ridiculed, bullied, who
toss in their sleep

and can't seem to find
the footing to stand.
Lord come quickly, bring
the touch of your hand.

Lord bless the wounded -
the tormented throng
whose self worth is battered
by evil's sick song.

Come gather the fragments
from each broken life
and stand with the bullied
in heartache and strife.

Lord bless the wounded -
hell's words take their toll
and hear them and hold them.
Lord please, make them whole.

Great work Randy. It is comforting to know that God can fully identify with us in our struggles and pain because He has experienced it firsthand. The challenge is to be able to bless and comfort others out of the hurts and struggles we have received, just like Jesus does, rather than becoming a carrier of the disease called bitterness. When no one else understands, we can still take it to the Lord.
Read Ephesians 2:10 which talks about us as God's workmanship. In the Greek, it is the word poeme which is where we get our word poem. So, we are all poems that God is working on, fine tuning, and perfecting, so that our life will speak in ways that go beyond the mere words. And that is what poems like yours achieve too. They speak to our hearts in ways that go way beyond mere words.
