Wisdom from God and wisdom from men are incomparable. They¡¯re not in a million times the same. The wisdom from God is His own but the wisdom from men comes from the flesh in which it cannot be trusted.

¡°The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.¡± Proverbs 1:7

We accumulate learnings through experience and thus we become wiser to decide. But a good sense of decision is not a wise decision to God if it is done without His consent. What does it mean? It simply means we need wisdom from God and not from our own understanding–we need God¡¯s approval all the time!

¡°Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.¡± Proverbs 3:5

How do we know that it¡¯s a wisdom from God?

Read your Bible. In the scriptures everything is revealed according to His will and God will speak to us through His words. We know it if it comes from God because He will reveal it to us. By knowing His principles and laws (through reading the scriptures), we¡¯ll know then what to do. So if our decisions are purely there to please the flesh, then it means it is not a wisdom from God–it is said that foolish people hate wisdom and true knowledge.

Wisdom¡¦wisdom! Why do we need wisdom from God?

Everyone is talking about wisdom. But what does the bible say about the value of wisdom? God is telling us about it in the book of Proverbs (chapter 2). Wisdom from God is there to:

- It helps us to understand the fear of the LORD.
- Wisdom shields us to walk in integrity.
- It guards our paths.
- Wisdom will help us understand righteousness and justice and equity.
- It delivers us from the way of evil.
- It delivers us from the men of perverted speech.
- We will be delivered from the forbidden woman, from the adulteress with her smooth words.
- And so we will walk in the way of the good and keep us to the paths of the righteous.

Where to get wisdom?

It comes from God. It is through God alone that we gain wisdom and true knowledge.

How to find wisdom?

- Receive the Word of God and treasure His commandments.
- Be attentive to God¡¯s word and conviction of the Holy Spirit
- Seek it like silver
- Search for it

¡°My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;¡± Proverbs 2:1-6

As a final note, wisdom from God helps us to understand His will, principles, laws and standards. With this in our hearts, we will keep walking with the LORD and be delivered from the perverted ways of evil.
