THY KINGDOM COME?
In Jesus’ tutitorial prayer in Luke 11, He told His disciples to pray that God’s Heavenly Kingdom would become a reality on the earth. (v.2) The Heavenly Kingdom would expand to an Earthly Kingdom dedicated to establishing the righteousness of God. For so long believers have been gazing heaven ward expecting that one day they would be a resident in the Heavenly realm. As a result of that doctrine, the Kingdom of God (earthly) has become neglected to the point that it is a fleeting fantasy in the mind of the Believer. Throughout history there have been token attempts to establish an earthly Kingdom of God, but due to a lack of cooperation among believers, the only thing that has been established is strongholds of belief based on the doctrines of men. Jesus knew that it would be a difficult undertaking to keep the believers focused on the things of God. He prayed that believers would be one as He and the Father were one; the purpose being that the world would know God’s will and purpose for the redemption of man. (John 17:21) Instead of the Church claiming the earth for the Lord, it has taken a defensive posture of self preservation until the Lord comes to take His lukewarm believers to their eternal reward.
Satan took over the world and atmosphere early in man’s existence. He acknowledged his authority while in the wilderness with Jesus. (Luke 4:6) Jesus confirmed it in John 12:31. Paul elaborated about Satan’s position in II Cor. 4:4 and Eph.2:2. Instead of believers unifying against their common foe, they have focused their attention against each other. Cities are inundated with Christian strongholds (buildings with labels which define their exclusiveness,) while at the same time Satan is claiming city after city for his kingdom. Satan’s army is unified and dedicated to recruiting followers by the enticement of fleshly desires.
When is the Church going to shed off the “Rip Van Winkle” syndrome and begin to take back what belongs to God? Does the Christian organization have it in their power to bring “Thy Kingdom Come”? Can the Church take back the streets that Satan has controlled? Can it break the back of the “Prince of the Kingdom of Persia?” (Dan. 10:13) Can it break the addictions that have overcome so many people? Can it break the demonic spirits that have swarmed like mosquitoes over our generation? Can It cause illness and disease to flee? The answer is YES! But not unless there is a change! It is time to blow the “Unity Trumpet” and bring the believers together. Jesus warned that a Kingdom divided against itself would not stand. (Luke 11:17) If the Church continues to operate the way it has, not only will God’s Heavenly Kingdom not come, but the only thing that will be left when the Lord returns will be a hiding church behind its “wailing wall.” Satan’s kingdom is not divided and will continue to inflict damage against the Church right up until Jesus comes. BUT, if the “sleeping giant” (the Church) awakens, the whole earth will tremble. “Mr. Saint,” tear down the walls of separation and let Truth spill out as a spiritual tsunami! Is it too late? You decide.
