The chisels of God come in seven sizes. Each has a particlular significance and purpose. In each chisel, there we find the chastisement of God, as well as, necessary refinement. God uses seven chisels for the molding of our soulish character and the revelation of refinement by His perfect hand. The first chisel is used by God to refine the most delicate areas of our soul. The second chisel is used in God's hand as one that works on the next layer of our imperfection to "chip away" the layer that has accumulated as the shell of the oyster to offer protection to the hardened soul. The third chisel is used by God to reach the seemingly inaccessible areas in corners of our soul. The fourth chisel in the hands of God “chips away” the roughened edges that offer protection to the jagged edges of our soul. The fifth chisel is used by God to refine and secure the surface of our soul in preparation for the final touches of God's perfecting. The sixth chisel in the hands of the Perfect Sculptor is used to smooth out the edges of our soul. Finally, the seventh chisel in the Master's hand completes His finished work as a refined and new creation of beauty unknown before. In the final work of God, the sculpture is ready for use by God and has the strength and form to withstand the trials and the wisdom to follow God. Without God using the seven chisels, our soul would remain as only a rough edged mass; but with God’s touch, the unfinished mass becomes a useful creation worthy of Godly use. © Juanita Pittman-Brown All rights reserved
