In a time before time when all things must rhyme...

Dee was mad because Tim did not show up.
She called him on the phone.
“If I have to wait my whole life for you.
There will be nothing else for me to do.
Why do you make me wait and wait
When you know you’re always late?”
Bemoaning his excuse Tim reported,
“I’m so sorry you can’t see.
The problems that are here with me.”
“My dog died, my car broke down
I ride the bus to get around.
I’m coming, honest, I'll do my best
As you can see my life’s a mess.
There’s one step forward, one step back
I get confused and then lose track.”
Dee questioned Tim,
"What do you think you should do
That will help you see this through?”
Tim replied, “I know this might sound odd
But I gave this up to God.
I do not know how I got through
Not knowing God and what He can do.
There is one thing I can say
I sure glad He came my way.
Now you can rejoice and you can cheer
I am knocking at your door I'm here.
I am here did I pass the test?
Am I better than all the rest?”
Dee gathered up Tim, drawing him close to her.
“God loves you and so do I
We applaud your every try
In my arms you can rest
‘cause there never was a test."
Tim's grief drowning in him tears,
"What can I do, what can I say?
Does he hear me when I pray?
Is this God’s love that I feel?
It helps me know He is real.”
Tim sat up wiping his eyes,
He smiles and said,
“Whenever I have a doubt
Please remind me what’s it about.
God’s even here in my soul
With His breath God's made me whole."
Dee and Tim looked at each other and smiled...
