Matthew 6:33 "Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need" NLT
Matthew 6:33 "But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides" AMP

Q: what does it mean to seek?
Seek: pursue, follow, run after, aim, search; to get or reach
If I am seeking something, I am looking for something until I find it. Seeking requires action. When a person is seeking something, its a nonstop process.
what are you seeking?
Ex: lost you're keys-search like crazy
2 examples of seekers
1) a Sheppard & his flock
Luke 15:4-6 "If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them gets lost, what will he do? Won't he leave the ninety-nine others in the wilderness and go to search for the one that is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he will joyfully carry it home on his shoulders. When he arrives, he will call together his friends and neighbors, saying, 'Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep."
2) a woman and her silver coins
Luke 15:8-9 "Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Won't she light a lamp and sweep the entire house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she finds it, she will call in her friends and neighbors and say, 'Rejoice with me because I have found my lost coin."
these two people seeked sheep and money nonstop, until they found it. How much more should we seek God?
Your effort and value toward something is discovered through your seeking. If what your seeking is important, you will seek with all you're heart. If something isn't important, you won't go after it.
But why is it that when we start seeking God, we then stop?
Bible says to seek God. That is what God desires. God wants us to seek him. God promises us that if we seek him, we will find him (Deuteronomy 4:29; Jeremiah 29:13)
Deuteronomy 4:29 "But from there you will search again for the Lord your God. And if you search for him with all your heart and soul, you will find him."
The person that seeks God activates the power of the heavens on there side. Matthew 6:33 is a command to the believer from God. When we obey God's commands/Word, he blesses us. We are rewarded.
What is the reward if we obey this command? What kind of blessing will we receive?
He will give us everything we need. Multiple blessings (V33b)
seeking God's kingdom is the same as seeking God. A kingdom us a territory, an empire. God's kingdom is the heavens. The spiritual world. God is in the center of his kingdom. You will find him of you seek his kingdom
Ex: the sun. in the center of the universe. Never moves. We move. The sun is the king and the universe is the suns kingdom. If you want to see the sun, feel the sun, all you got to do is go outside. The sun isn't far away. Couple steps away from you're home, your work, your school. But to see the sun requires action. And so it us with God. Many people believe that God does not exist. But I guaranteed they never seeked him with all there heart because if they did, God says he will reveal himself to them. Seeking is an action but how we seek is the ingredient that will complete the action. Where is the heart to our seeking?
I picture it this way. God is on one side and we are on the other. In the middle there is a wall. God isn't far from us, he is closer than we think. How will we get to where God is? Seeking him.
So this person starts searching for God. Runs around, looks in different places, even in the same places. However, they are stop on there side. What's wrong with this picture? does this person have faith? Faith when they seek? Our faith and heart are
connected. If you don't believe, there is no love. If you love someone, you also believe in them.
The wall in between us and God was not place there to separate us from God but to test us. Its a test to see our actions and heart.
Ex: the tree in the garden (test) was placed to test man not to fail man.
Ex: Israel from exodus. Wandered for 40yrs from a 3 day trip. Promise lands. Why did it take them long? They lost faith & heart
