While going through the furnace of affliction
it makes your faith to grow with a stronger conviction

Though the battle is wearing you down in the midst of your storm
you'll come out a different person in a more refined form

Things that once seemed important don't matter so much any more
You put the past behind and press on to what's before

Sometimes it takes affliction to get our eyes off the world
to depend on God's provision when Satan's darts are slung and hurled

Certain things can only be learned by having your faith tested and tried
as God's refining fire removes the dross and makes you purified

When the way is rugged and it seems like all you can do is endure
God has a plan for your life to bear more fruit while you grow and mature

Being cast into the furnace means you are God's chosen vessel
to proclaim the good news of the gospel and rescue souls from Hell


Isaiah 48:10(KJV) Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.
