She was so youngYet there was so much pain
Her young life filled with guilt and shame
There was noone she could talk to
Noone to help her or see her through
No family, no friends, no not one
A runaway she had left her home

Now she's on the street and all alone
Night is coming on and she's so afraid
These were not the plans she had made
There's no safe place to lay her head
A cardboard box will be her bed

She had left home seeking freedom and fun
But there's only guilt and shame for what she has done
She can't go back home, she's much too ashamed
And she knows how her words caused so much pain
To the ones who loved her in spite of her ways
Sad until now she didn't want to hear them pray
For they always included her in their prayers
Oh how tonight she wishes she could be there
Just to hear the love as they called out her name
And asked God to watch over her til she made things right

Won't someone stop and tell her things don't have to be this way
Her parents are watching and hoping she'll come home today
All is forgiven they just want to see her face
For they are firm believers in God's amazing grace
