You may remember the enthusiasm of your child on Christmas when the anticipation of those presents wrapped with care is finally realized. I personally don’t recall any feeling quit the same. But did you know there are wonderful things God has prepared for you? First Cor. 2:9 says “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” Are you one of those who love God and shouldn’t you be excited about the possibilities? Can you imagine yourself opening a present from your Father in heaven, saying to yourself, I wonder what it is?

God has actually prepared things for you no one has ever seen before just like the first time mankind saw the beauty of a sunset or heard the melody of a songbird. No eye has seen or ear heard. The creator of all things has something in mind just for you. It is something even the heart of man could not conceive. It’s the love of the parent that shines through those gifts given at Christmas. But did you know God loves you with a perfect love, a love that can’t even be imagined by the heart of man? If your gifts reflects your love to your child, how much greater will the gift God wants to give you be given from the Lord of a perfect love?

You can know this love by doing what the end of this verse says, “prepared for those who love Him.” There’s only one thing greater than knowing God’s love, its loving God in return. When you take the love God has placed in your heart when you received Jesus as your Savior, that love is like a beam of light filling your spirit and bounces around in your heart like a chamber of mirrors and shoots out in every direction, with every color of the rainbow, to cover the world around you with God’s love. If you’ve never felt God’s love flowing through you to someone else, you haven’t experienced the wonder of the thing He’s prepared for you, His perfect love.
