If you take your Christianity seriously it’s hard to notice only people’s sin. The amazing reason our Father in heaven sent His son, Jesus, to die for the sin of humanity is because God can see what He intends us to be as one made in His image. We need to begin to see folks around us as children of God who have the potential, once submitted to God’s influence, to shine brightly for Christ’s sake as a powerful instrument to change the world from evil into good.

The Apostle Paul in the 26th chapter of Acts tells of His amazing conversion experience. This great Biblical figure originally named Saul had the greatest hatred for Christians before he saw the light and was equally passionate about cultivating his new faith once converted. The Lord saw Saul as Paul before he actually became Paul. God has the same hope for all His children. We, as faithful Christians, must see past the sin to embrace not just the sinner but the redeemed and purified saint of God who we can help achieve wonders for the kingdom of God.

If we have the same hope that burns in the heart of God for His people, then we’ll be more able to come along side and help carry the burdens of those who’ve not yet seen the way of salvation. The often unnoticed John 3:17 scripture says “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world might be saved through Him.” We don’t have to condemn those who don’t believe Jesus is the Son of God because their very disbelief already condemns them.

The Apostle Paul rose from obscurity to become a primary player in Biblical history. So when you see someone in their sin, which offends your sensibilities, try see them for who God wants them to be and pray the Spirit of God gives you true unconditional love which they need to become who God knows He created them to be. And don't forget to pray that other have mercy for you, who might have been offended by your imperfections.
