I saw this little book for the first time in the story of Ian & Larissa, (ow.ly/cpKhP). How fortunate I was to have stumbled upon stopsmelltheroses’s blog(stopsmelltheroses.tumblr.com) because she had reblogged this from Desiring God (desiringgod.org) which is the site of the author of this wonderful book: John Piper.

I had partially read another book by him called “The Passion of Jesus Christ”, which I liked a lot, but this one book is making such a difference in my life that I have to tell everybody!

The reason why this book is so special to me is because it came into my life at the right moment. I had experienced the painful experience of seeing my brother separate from the woman that had been his wife for almost 30 years. This of course sounded an alarm in my mind: what if my husband decides to do the same? And I spent many nights since then wondering about my own future and the future of my children.

It was then that I saw this amazing story about this couple who love each other beyond measure, and they were studying the book “This Momentary Marriage” with some friends. I wondered how the reading of this book would help them, and decided to read it myself.

My husband and I have read up to the middle of the book, and I can hardly start telling you how much we have been blessed by the profound truths taught in it.

The author literally mined spiritual diamonds from the Word of God and offers to us the possibility of having an amazingly rewarding married life. I won’t give away the thesis that John Piper develops in his book based on the Bible, but let me tell you this: if you love your husband or your wife, or whether you want to get married someday or are in the process of doing it, go and buy this book today and start reading it alongside your husband, wife, or future spouse.

After 19 years of marriage we are just starting to understand God’s plan for marriage and it is nothing short of amazing. This is going to be the bargain of your life! For just a few dollars, (assuming that you are willing to obey God’s instructions for marriage) you’ll get in return the most gratifying marriage experience ever.

So, you have a choice friend: to read it or not to read it? That is the question.
