One day I heard my Savior calling,
"Come ye now and follow me"
I said, "But Lord you don't really know me
Wy would you want the likes of me?"

He replied, "Now don't you worry
I know where you are and where you've been
But if in my footsteps you will follow
I'll cleanse you from all inward sin.

As you follow close behind me
I'll not let you lose your way
Over mountains and through the valleys
I'll be there to guide you along life's way"

So I started on this journey
Following closely step by step
And there's never been a time I needed Him
That He wasn't right there to help

Step by step I'm following onward
Til I reach that heavenly shore
There to dwell through endless ages
In the presence of my Lord
