LIFE’S RACE

As a high schooler he loved to run
Week to week he ran his race to win
Back then it was all in good fun
Many titles he would run to defend.

As he got older a new race to run
Now focused on running a good race
A race that was a more important one
The one he would need God’s grace.

When a young boy it’s about first place
Medals and honor made him feel good
Now it’s about running a good race
Finishing the race for God now understood.

This race that comes from high above
No medals or trophies to be given out
He runs the race to remain in God’s love
The reward is salvation now no doubt.
