When I draw close to God,
I feel safe.
I grow in strength,
& in faith.
I feel as I can do anything.
as if can see everything.
I see God's plans,
And how they are promising.
When I draw close to God,
I feel his presence.
I feel the embraceable acceptance.
The after fruit of repentance.
When I draw away from God,
I feel none of these things.
But doubtful mornings
& stressful evenings.
I feel isolated on an island,
unsatisfied & broken.
my heart is completely stone,
instead of completely golden.
When I draw away from God,
I don't feel myself anymore.
As if a part of me died,
The unique flower of me, dried.
But how I desire you my Lord.
To stay under the shadow of your wings.
I don't desire you Lord,
For the blessings you bring.
I desire you because you are everything I need.
You are the one who created me.
Like the stars in the sky,
Despite the darkness they still shine.
from the throne of my pride,
yes Lord, I resign.
So I can be with you,
Forever by your side.
I chose to draw close to you,
For in your presence I belong.
As I think of it,
You have desired the same all along.
To be with me...
