THE GARDEN IN MY MIND

In my mind there is a garden green
A place with flowers of color wild
Spectacular pedals of golden sheen
Nature’s creation has brightly smiled.

A feeling so real I begin to wonder
Is this real or am I only dreaming
A place of no clouds or thunder
The warm sun rays streaming.

My garden has many butterflies
Gently flower to flower they flutter
Left behind are life’s absurdities
My mind free from all worldly clutter.

Perhaps my garden really does exist
Where sunlight keeps shadows away
Two people who loved once kissed
This garden I hope to one day stay.

One day, one day where wild flowers grow
One day, one day there I will be as foreseen
One day, one day where the sunbeams flow
One day, one day I’ll see my garden green.
