THE FALL FROM THE GARDEN
There was a garden once so perfect
God’s garden of Eden where it began
Everything designed for the right effect
In God’s design was a loving plan.
There God walked with man long ago
Animals, plants and trees of every kind
With perfect weather he saw it all grow
Love, peace and joy was in Adam’s mind.
Fed by four rivers a land most beautiful
Adam and his wife Eve tended it tenderly
Lush gardens to live, nothing to conceal
On earth everything was so heavenly.
Man and woman had only one command
Don’t eat of my tree, the tree of knowledge
Never eat from this tree you understand
We don’t eat from this tree we acknowledge.
The serpent did deceive, Eve couldn’t resist,
You can eat from this tree you won’t die
Adam loved his Eve, I’ll eat he would insist
After eating, now naked they understood why.
God angered and saddened all at the same time
Removed the man from his garden to live
God’s relationship broken, for a time
A disobedience to God he wouldn’t forgive.
God sent his angel so strong and bright
To close up the garden forever more
Man kicked out, the gate shut tight
Sinful man now clothes to cover he wore.

Lovely
a sight to see;
the fruit
appealing and inviting,
the voice
beckoning and beguiling;
Wisdom warns:
She must not--
But the foolish heart
asks Why not??
So, you see
how curiousity
becomes the fall of man!!
