THE DAY MOMMY, DADDY DIED

It was a terrible day in September
Bad men from far away came
It was the eleventh day I remember
Hid amongst us, pretended to be the same
That’s the day mommy and daddy died.

Like Pearl Harbor, America caught unaware
Bad men came and hijacked our planes
From terrorist, America you need beware
In the name of Allah, radicals insane
That’s the day mommy and daddy died.

Plane forced to crash into a twin tower
At first it looked like a horrifying accident
Watching TV we saw a second that hour
This is now a strike, a national incident
That’s the day mommy and daddy died.

The horror of it all a terrible fright
Scared people screaming run everywhere
America helpless a disabling sight
Those outside in disbelief only stare
That’s the day mommy and daddy died.

The fire and heat unbearable that day
Caused the steel to buckle, building fall
Thousands left to die, what a terrible way
Fire and police departments, make the call
That’s the day mommy and daddy died.

The alarm went out they all responded
Smoke and debris for miles you could see
How could this happen, America confounded
On that horrible day life changed for me
That’s the day mommy and daddy died.

For the rest of my life, and others too
It will be a day we never forget but morn
In the name of Allah, what did they do
Our lives and hearts will always be torn
That’s the day mommy and daddy died.

The terrorist proved nothing, more lives destroyed
The response crew of nine eleven are my hero
More mommies and daddies are now deployed
Rebuild you may, for me it will be ground zero
That’s the day mommy and daddy died.
