There will surly come a time in our lives
when things get out of our hands
And it won't get better, but only get worse
and we will soon, come to understand

That we have to get from behind the wheel
and give it back to God
For if we don't we're going to wreck the car
and end up without a ride

He will let us on and do our thing
and not one word will he say
But wait right there, until we are through
and to admit we don't know the way

To fix the problem that keeps on growing
day in, and day out
Why, because we are trying to be the driver
and only going the same old route

This adds more years to our body frames
whenever we worry and fret
Picking up more loads that we can't carry
a lesson that we haven't learn yet

God wants full control of the situation
and he don't need my help at all
When we leave it in his hands to handle it
then they won't seem so tall

Everything will run so smooth and easy
no more headaches inside the head
We won't have anymore those sleeples nights
tossing and turning, in that bed

God is willing to take our burdens
if we release them in his care
For he knows every route to get us out
and however it's done, it will be fair
