THE SOUL WRESTLING MATCH OF THE CENTURIES


Ladies and Gentlemen, let me introduce our opponents in this important life bout. In this corner on the left we have Grudge-Bearing, a giant of a man, eyes flashing with indignation at the wrongs done to him, strong, ferocious, memories that kindle and rekindle with resentment until hatred irrevocably hardens and shapes his life and who he is.

In the other corner is Love One Another, calm, plain, simple, acceding to the easy to understand command of God, equally strong with perseverance and gentleness. You obey or disobey, no matter the circumstances. The command covers every person, every time and every place and stands immutable for time and eternity.

The two opponents face each other in the ring of life. Toe to toe they stand, and we have freedom of choice as to which one we will support. The one pays great dividends: peace here and hereafter; the other triggers unhappiness, anger and even sometimes ill health in the here and now.

We are the audience. We will decide which to support, and in a little different twist, we will individually and eventually choose the winner in our individual hearts and lives and reap the consequences. We may waiver a little now and again in our allegiance, but eventually we will make the final irrevocable choice. They cannot long co-exist. One or the other will lose. The one you encourage and support will be the victor. Will it be Love One Another or Grudge-Bearing? Your very life depends upon the choice you make. Count on it.
